Selene La Marca has fifteen years of experience and is a dual-boarded Nurse Practitioner in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Family Practice. She obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2007 from Indian River Community College. After relocating to New Mexico, Selene attended the University of New Mexico where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2013, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas- El Paso. Her last educational venture was in 2019 when she completed a Post-Master’s Certificate and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. The focus of her doctoral project was a quality improvement initiative to evaluate screening tools that would improve treatment initiation in sepsis patients resulting in improved patient outcomes.
Selene has worked in various areas of nursing, from ICU to ER Departments, as an educator and in the private sector. For the past seven years, she has worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a local Emergency Department. Selene is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (AAENP). Outside of work, Selene enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, and many outdoor activities.
