Elicia Currier has been a Las Crucian for the last 22 years. She grew up in Kirtland, NM. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from NMSU in 2005. She practiced in the community as an RN both at Mountain View Regional Medical Center and the Southern New Mexico Long Term Acute Care Hospital. She returned to Graduate school and obtained her Master of Science in Nursing with an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Specialty. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has been practicing in Las Cruces as a Nurse Practitioner for the last 10 years. She has practiced in the hospital setting as a hospitalist, she specialized in Cardiology for 3 years and most recently has been working in Nephrology since 2021. Elicia is active in the local Nurse Practitioner Community, helping to create an environment for learning and collaboration amongst Nurse Practitioners and Physicians. She has served on the New Mexico Nurse Practitioner Council as a Region 3 representative. Elicia enjoys teaching and precepting Nurse Pracitioner Students. In her free time she enjoys all things outdoors, camping, fishing, and backpacking but most of all, she enjoys spoiling her fur babies.
When it comes to patient care and chronic disease management, Elicia strongly believes that appropriate patient education is key. She understands that health care is multifaceted and for many patients their care requires appropriate multidisciplinary collaboration. She helps empower patients to take responsibility for their health and healthcare decisions, resulting in a more fulfilling and healthy life.
